Swimming pools, alfresco areas, BBQ’s and more.
Aussie backyards. A place to entertain, throw a steak on the BBQ and relax with friends.
As friendships were compromised and bonds put to the test, all contestants presented amazing backyards.
The winning yards were the practical ones – a place for kids to play, a cubby house, a grass area, a veggie or herb patch and fruit trees. An entertaining area (with seating) is a must and of course and the all important BBQ with practical cabinetry offering bench space, cupboards, even a sink or fridge.
The ‘icing on the cake’ for some of the contestants was the inclusion of a spa or swimming pool (check out Ronnie & Georgia’s), an outdoor shower, a fire pit, sculptures and other spectacular art work.
How’s the Serenity? House Number 5, Josh & Elysee presented a backyard, “worthy of being on the front cover of any magazine world wide.”
Judge Neale Witaker was most impressed they managed to put an in ground swimming pool with landscaping to match all in the space of a week. The yard is grand and spacious and best of all, low maintenance. A well deserved win for Josh & Elysee.
Your alfresco area.
Looking to put some cabinetry in your alfresco area? We recommend StyleLite as an option.
StyleLite multi-purpose boards offer a water-resistant cabinetry solution for covered patios and alfresco areas.
The boards are laminated double-sided with StyleLite sheet and are durable, highly water resistant, mould proof and resistant to warpage.
Available at Cabinetmakers Choice through our supplier, DesigerForm, StyleLite is available in a range of colours with a ultra high golss or a velvet matt finish.
Please note, StyleLite was not used by any contestants during Backyard week on The Block 2017. Cabinetmakers Choice did not supply cabinetry for the alfresco areas.
However, we did use StyleLite for the entertainment unit in Ronnie & Georgia’s Living Area and in their Master Bedroom Ensuite.
Just shows how versatile this product is!
StyleLite can be used indoors, under covered outdoor patios and for marine purposes.
