Cabinetmakers Choice had the privilege of visiting AWISA 2018, Australia’s largest exhibition of cabinetmaking technology and design.

The trade exhibition held recently at Sydney’s new International Conference Centre in Darling Harbour had over 120 exhibitors.

Here’s a few of the latest developments in cabinetry hardware and in particular drawer systems we are most impressed with:

Decorative Designer Drawer Systems by Hettich

Hettich’s new designer profiles for ArciTech and InnoTech Atira drawers provide an effective way of individualising cabinetry.

The decorative, designer profiles in attractive finishes create visual highlights with an individual touch: timeless stainless steel, chrome or aluminium looks. Oak and walnut pick up on the trend towards more natural authenticity.

Easy to install.

Innovative Hinge Systems

Sensys door hinges with integrated soft closing from Hettich means just a light touch and the door closes smoothly.

Intermat Hinge System is designed for fast assembly.  Easy to fit and able to be adjusted effortlessly, the system is versatile and handy. Usable in almost every application with the optional silent system.

New Generation of Push to Open Silent Technology

As a pioneer of push to open Silent technology, Hettich has added numerous new features to the second product generation.

With push to open Silent, drawers are incredibly easy to open without handles, gently and quietly closing again from just a slight turn of the wrist.

Instead of springing back, push to open Silent stores energy and assists the closing cycle as the drawer slowly glides in.

With optional synchronisation, the system can be activated from the edges of large drawer. With optional 10 kg runners, light drawers can be closed just as easily as heavy weight drawers up to 80 kg.

Hettich Award Winning Folding System

The best of German design and engineering in storage solutions is now available in Australia with Hettich’s WingLine range of folding sliding door systems for wardrobes and cupboards.

Designed to pair with Hettich’s Sensys soft-closing hinges, WingLine L clever push/pull opening mechanism provides ready access to everything inside the cabinet. It offers minimal protrusion, aesthetic appeal and precision engineering tested over 40,000 cycles.

WingLine L opens an entire door set with just one push or pull – with or without handle. Supporting a door panel in heights of up to 2400 mm and widths of up to 600 mm.

Quadro Drawer Runner.

This Hettich system uses the ball bearing principle, guaranteeing long-lasting peak performace. Artfully concealed beneath the drawer panel, the runners come in partial extension and full extension varieties with a load of up to 50kg.

And then the surprises …
